A tribute to a quarter horse stallion that we owned before sending him to Scotland, to
become a three day event horse. He has made a very impressive reputation in this area
and his offspring are showing great promise.

A portrait of the elusive Wapati. During the "rut" in the fall the hills resound with
the "bugle" or mating call of the bull elk.

A full portrait of the bull elk shows the size of his rack of antlers in comparison to
the rest of his body. The elk, like all deer grows a new set of antlers every year. As
he ages the rack becomes bigger and heavier each year.

to a stop, spin on a dime, and move with cat like grace.

Neighborhood Watch
High on a rocky ledge, the cougar family keeps watch on their territory. Very rarely
seen, these gorgeous cats are native to our area.

The Ram
High in the Mountain areas of North America lives one of the noble creatures that we
are fortunate to see on our travels. Most spectacular is the Mountain Sheep. Depicted
here is a Ram. Not yet a full curl set of horns, but magnificent none the less.

Kits Will Be Kits
A few years ago a mother fox chose to raise her litter of eight fox kits under one of
the buildings at my Mom's place. She was a "Single Mom" with no male fox around and
became very trusting of Dee as she went about her daily activities. Over the course of
the summer, Dee took dozens of really neat pictures of these enchanting visitors. I used
two of them as the basis for this drawing.
